Curveballs for Jobu

Curveballs for Jobu is Off Base Percentage's daily trip around the ballparks.

Today's honorary bat boy is Rob Ducey. Fun Fact, he was essentially traded for himself in 2000.

Surprise, surprise. Derwood was out all night getting hammered at the Anaheim Marriott hotel bar with Corey Hart so I have to cover Jobu again. Okay, Derwood was drinking by himself at the bar and saw Corey Hart walk through the lobby. I like my version better.

Brewers 6, Pirates 5. The afore mentioned Corey Hart went 1-5 with 2 strikeouts. That one hit though? It was a walk off 2-run home run. Corey Hart would go on to walk through the Marriott lobby earlier in the post. Andrew McCutchen went 0-3 with 2 RBI. RBI is a great stat, huh?

Orioles 4, Rangers 1. Jake Arrieta had a nice outing pitching 6.1 innings while giving up 6 hits and 1 earned run. The Orioles swept the first place Rangers. Upon typing that, my computer tried to auto-correct that sentence to "the Orioles were swept again." Don't look now, but the O's are only 27 games out of first in the East.

A's 5, Angels 1. All Stars Trevor Cahill and Jered Weaver faced off and the A's starter got the better end of it. Brandon Wood had one of his better outings though. He came into the game at third in the bottom of the 8th and didn't get an at bat. That's the kind of momentum he needs for a big second half.

Marlins 2, Diamondbacks 0. Mark Reynolds and Stephen Drew both struck out 3 times while playing with my emotions. Reynolds hasn't had a Golden Sombrero since 6/26. Infuriating. Someone named Burke Badenhop got the win after not allowing a hit in the final 2/3 of the 4th inning. Wins are a great stat, huh?
