MLB Junk Outsells NFL Junk

According to something called The Licensing Letter, MLB will beat out the NFL in licensing revenue for the fourth straight year. And I think we can all trust a money magazine that is published by a guy named Ira Mayer. Amirite. They get their data from talking to league officials, manufacturers and retailers. Seems like more should go into that process. Maybe they are just making numbers up. Either way, here's the projection...
The Licensing Letter’s 2010 Sports Licensing Report issue projects that MLB will sell $2.75 billion in licensed merchandise this year compared to $2.7 billion in NFL product. The NBA will pull in a projected $1.75 billion in gross sales for its logoed gear and the NHL will make $630 million in sales.
According to my research, Yankees' hats make up $1.5 billion of the $2.75 billion and the $50 million more that MLB makes than the NFL comes from David Eckstein bobblehead cash. I'm a scientist.
